Individuals working to make a positive impact in any field can apply by 9 June. Every year AMP’s Tomorrow Fund awards $1 million in grants to amazing Australians doing great things. Australian citizens and permanent residents of all ages, interests and walks of life can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $100,000. Since 2014, the AMP Foundation has awarded grants to over 300 Tomorrow Makers working in fields as diverse as art, athletics, science, social innovation, music, medical research and more. Wage subsidies are a financial incentive to encourage employers to hire eligible participants in ongoing jobs by contributing to the initial costs of hiring a new employee. Wage subsidies can help to build a business and give employers greater flexibility in their hiring options. Up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) is available for new employees who are: 15 to 24 years of age, Indigenous Australians, or 50 years of age and over. Up to $6,500 (GST inclusive) is available for new employees who are: 25 to 29 years of age, parents, or registered with an employment services provider for 12 months or more. For a summary of what’s available see the Wage Subsidies fact sheet. Eligible businesses can receive payments over a six month period from employment services providers. Employers can negotiate how often they are made, for example weekly or fortnightly. Employers can access a wage subsidy if they: have an Australian Business Number (ABN) have not previously received a wage subsidy for the same person are not an Australian, state or territory government agency offer a job that is expected to be ongoing and for an average of 20 hours per week over the six months of the wage subsidy agreement offer a job that complies with employment standards for the position – for example, is suitable work and pays as a minimum the national award wage. Some jobs are not eligible for a wage subsidy, including: work that displaces an existing employee commission-based, subcontracting or self-employment positions and work for an immediate family member. APPLICATIONS CLOSED Nous supports not-for-profit and community organisations through our Community Partnership Scheme (CPS), which delivers discounted consulting services to organisations that otherwise may not have access. Over the years Nous has partnered with more than 100 organisations through our CPS, providing more than $5 million in consulting services and advice on more than 110 projects that deliver lasting positive change. Applications for the autumn 2021 round are now open Applications are now open for the autumn 2021 round of the CPS. This round is open to Australian not-for-profit and community-based organisations. In this round we encourage applications for consulting projects that will have an impact on gender inequality in Australia. This is not restrictive however, and we encourage a diversity of project applications. Consulting projects not directly aligned to this theme will still be considered. The Nous CPS offers support in the form of discounted consulting services; it is not a cash grant scheme. How to apply To apply, please complete this application form. Nous maintains the right to determine successful applicants at its discretion. Eligibility criteria There are three eligibility criteria for autumn 2021 Round: 1. Type of organisation Applicants must be non-government, not-for-profit and community-based organisations. The organisation cannot be the charity arm of a for-profit company. 2. Alignment with Nous’ work Projects must fall within the scope of Nous’ consulting work (browse our website to learn more about this scope). Projects outside the scope include: direct delivery of fundraising events or campaigns (support in the development of these is eligible) capital equipment grants and motor vehicles purchase of land or buildings refurbishment, renovation and fit-out core operating costs activities which collect funds for redistribution overseas appeals expeditions or overseas travel sponsorships, including sponsorships of conferences, events and festivals. 3. Ability to co-contribute Applicants must make a financial co-contribution to the project, rather than an in-kind contribution. This approach helps establish a long-term commitment to the project and ensure outcomes are sustained beyond the project timeline. Nous will contribute up to $60,000 worth of services to any one organisation for a consulting project with the requirement that successful applicants co-contribute the higher of $10,000 or 25 per cent of the total project value. Nous has prepared some examples of projects funded through the CPS including their price (value) to help you estimate the approximate value of your proposed work. Manufacturers in Longman with good ideas that are ready to be turned into world-beating realities can now apply for a slice of a new $30 million fund from the Morrison Government. The Commercialisation Fund could help manufacturers carry out projects that bring industry and researchers together to commercialise new products and processes. It provides matched funding of up to $1 million for projects that bring industry and researchers together to commercialise new products. This fund is designed to help our small and medium sized manufacturers to access research know-how that can help them grow their businesses and become more competitive on both a domestic and global stage. Consistent with all programs under the Modern Manufacturing Strategy, this fund will support projects within the Government’s six National Manufacturing Priorities. These priorities are: Medical Products, Food and Beverage, Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Processing, Recycling and Clean Energy, Defence, and Space. Commercialisation Fund grants will be between $100,000 and $1 million and must be matched by industry. These smaller-sized grants will complement the larger projects that will be supported through the $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative. Projects must include collaboration with a research partner and a minimum of one industry partner. The fund will run over an 18-month period. The first round of funding, which opens today, will provide $20 million while a subsequent round will deliver the remaining $10 million. Applications for Round 2 of the Road Safety Innovation Fund are open. The fund supports innovative research and technology to help improve road safety in Australia. $10 million is available under Round 2, with a limit of $350,000 per project over three financial years. The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) program was announced in 2016 as part of the Australian Government’s election commitment to improve access, educational opportunities and attainment for regional and remote Australians by supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education and training students from Certificate IV to PhD level. Scholarships are available to eligible students studying from six months full-time up to eight years part-time, for on campus or for online/distance education. Scholarships are valued at up to $18,000 each (for a full-time, four-year qualification). Shorter, part-time qualifications are funded on a pro rata basis. An additional $500 is also available to support an internship, where relevant. New applications for Round Four are currently closed but please check the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) site regularly for updates.

Applications for the 2021–22 Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program are now open and organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to support their commemorative projects and activities. Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Darren Chester said the program, now in its 25th year had supported thousands of projects nationally, but there were more projects across the nation still to be done. “At the heart of commemoration is our communities and these grants will continue to provide the extra assistance that many need in order to remember their local wartime history and service personnel,” Mr Chester said. “Projects and activities that these grants have supported include developing digital databases of Australians who have served, restoring commemorative sites of significance and producing resources that will keep the stories of our veterans alive for generations to come. “I am proud to see that so many community groups and organisations have applied for funding in past years, and that each year we continue to see high numbers of applications, a trend I look forward to seeing carry on in 2021.” The Grant Opportunity Guidelines have been revised for 2021–22, with changes made following consultation with ex-service organisations. “It is important that we continually review what and how we are doing things and make improvements – the Grant Opportunity Guidelines are a perfect example of this,” Mr Chester said. “In 2021–22 we are making minor changes to these guidelines; they will also include more information around coronavirus support and new batch opening and closing dates. The Visions of Australia program funds the development and touring of exhibitions of cultural material of historic, scientific, design, social or artistic significance. Tours must include at least three venues outside the organisation’s home state or territory. Regional and remote venues are a higher priority for funding. Seventy-nine community groups and organisations from across the country will receive funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program for projects that help preserve Australia’s military history. Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Darren Chester said more than $1 million would be provided to assist the successful applicants in completing projects and activities that commemorate our service personnel. “We have a rich military history and many Australians have a grandparent, parent, sibling or relative who have served in our defence forces and have played a role in helping shape the nation,” Mr Chester said. “By funding projects that safeguard our nation’s wartime heritage, we are ensuring generations to come have the opportunity to learn and connect with this service and sacrifice. The Saluting Their Service program is designed to preserve our military history, promote an understanding and appreciation of the experiences of service personnel and involve people around the nation in a wide range of activities that honour the service and sacrifice of Australians. The program runs throughout the year, with the next batch now open for applications. Owners of Driver Reviver locations in Longman can now apply for a share of $7.3 million in Australian Government funding to upgrade their life-saving rest sites. Grants are available for upgrades including – but not limited to – better signage, new lighting, kiosks, shelter, amenities for road users and equipment for the operators of the site. Grants are capped at $150,000 (ex GST) per site. Round Two will also allow for bushfire-affected sites to purchase new equipment and proponents for new driver reviver sites will also be able to apply. APPLICATIONS CLOSED The Stronger Communities Program supports the Australian Government’s commitment to deliver social benefits in communities across Australia by funding small capital projects. The program aims to encourage and support participation in local projects, improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities. Grants of up to $20,000 are available. Nominations and applications for the Stronger Communities Program Round 6 (SCP Rd 6) will open on January 19, 2021. Nominations and applications will close on March 22, 2021. Round 5 of the the successful Building Better Regions Fund opens on January 12 with a focus on supporting regional tourism. This funding will create jobs and drive economic growth in our rural and remote communities at a time it is needed most. The RISE Fund will provide targeted funding assistance for the presentation of new or re-shaped cultural and creative activities and events including festivals, concerts and tours.
