Much needed upgrades for Stanley River Rugby League!
Great news for local Rugby League! Under an LNP Government, we will upgrade the Stanley River Rugby League Football Club’s clubhouse!
The Stanley River Rugby League Football Club has been a vital part of the Woodford community for many years, offering a space for local families to connect through sport.
Despite facing significant setbacks, including the 2022 floods, the club has grown by 28%, now serving over 350 members, with a strong and increasing number of female players.
However, the club’s facilities are outdated, and the current clubhouse is over 45 years old.
There is a pressing need for upgraded amenities, particularly for female players who currently lack dedicated change rooms and appropriate facilities. The campaign is seeking funding to complete Stage 2 of the facility upgrade, which includes the construction of female change rooms, compliant referees’ rooms, and a clubhouse that meets disability access standards.
This project will directly benefit women in sport by providing them with the modern, inclusive facilities they deserve.
It will ensure the club can continue to meet the rising demand for female participation in rugby league and support the growing success of women’s teams.
The upgrade will also enable the club to host major events like the 2025 Sunshine Coast RL Finals, benefiting the entire community by providing a safe, welcoming, and accessible venue for all.
