Round 9 Stronger Communities Programme – EOI Open!

Great news for local community groups and organisations! Applications are now open for the Stronger Communities Programme Round 9, providing up to $20,000 in Federal Government funding for small infrastructure projects.

The program supports community-led initiatives to deliver social benefits, strengthen local connections, and enhance public infrastructure. The Longman electorate has access to $150,000 in total funding for eligible projects.

Key Details of the Program:

Funding available:
Eligible organisations can apply for funding of up to $20,000 per project. Local governing bodies can apply for up to 50% of eligible project costs, while all other applicants may receive up to 100% funding.

Who can apply:
Community organisations invited by their Federal Member of Parliament (MP) are eligible to apply. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
  • Meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the grant opportunity guidelines.
 

Program Objectives:

The Stronger Communities Programme supports projects that deliver social benefits in local communities by addressing one or more of the following objectives:

  • Boosting local tourism and celebrating Indigenous heritage.
  • Supporting veterans, defence force families, or commemorating war efforts.
  • Enhancing access to public infrastructure for children, newly arrived immigrants, or individuals with disabilities.
  • Addressing gender inequality or discrimination in public infrastructure or sports.
  • Contributing to medical or greenhouse gas emissions mitigation initiatives.
  • Encouraging participation and fostering vibrant communities.

Important Notes:

Community Consultation:
We will identify potential applicants and projects in their electorate through consultation with the community. Invited applicants will submit grant applications, which will be assessed in a closed, non-competitive process.

Funding Timelines:
Successful applicants must provide supporting documentation and meet the eligibility criteria to secure funding. Project costs should align with the program guidelines.

Scan or take a photo of the completed form and email to [email protected] or mail/drop off the completed form to: Unit 7, 69 King Street, Caboolture, 4510. Forms must be received by 5pm Friday February 14th 2025.

 

How to Apply:

Expressions of Interest (EOI) must be submitted to Terry Young MP’s office at Unit 7, 69 King Street, Caboolture, 4510 by the deadline.

Submission Options:

  • Scan and email your completed EOI form to [email protected].
  • Drop off or mail your form to the above address.

Key Dates:

  • EOI submissions close: Friday, 14th February 2025, at 5 PM.
  • Full applications period: 14 February 2025 – 28 March 2025.

All applications will be assessed by an independent panel. Grants are not ongoing and recommendations from the panel will be assessed by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts.

 

The closing date for Expressions of Interest is: Friday 14th February at 5pm.
